Luftbild Schloss Glücksburg - Schloss Glücksburg (dänisch Lyksborg Slot) zählt zu den bedeutendsten Renaissanceschlössern Nordeuropas | Das Schloss wurde zunächst Sitz der älteren Linie des Hauses Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, die von Johanns Sohn Philipp begründet wurde. Diese Linie regierte bis 1779, als mit dem Tod des kinderlosen Herzogs Friedrich Heinrich Wilhelm das alte Glücksburger Herzogshaus ausstarb. Das Schloss ging daraufhin an das dänische Königshaus zurück und wurde bis 1824 von Anna Caroline, der verwitweten Herzogin von Glücksburg, als Witwensitz genutzt.
